Heathrow (LHR)
The largest airport in Europe is located in west London, about 25 km from the city centre. Apart from London-City Airport, Heathrow has the fastest connections to the city centre, and also serves as one of Europe's main transfer points for travel further afield. British Airways flies here from Prague.
Gatwick (LGW)
London's second largest airport is located 45 km south of London and, like Heathrow, has fast rail links to the city centre. Serving mainly low-cost airlines, it is one of the busiest airports in Europe. Gatwick should be the first choice for travel to the whole of southern England, in addition to London.
Stansted (STN)
It is one of the most popular airports among Czech travellers, mainly thanks to the low prices of Ryanair, which has the largest base in the Czech Republic. Stansted is located 62 km northeast of London and is also a good choice for trips to Cambridge (50 km) or the eastern part of England. Transport to central London is the cheapest of all airports despite the longest distance.
Luton (LTN)
Located 54 km north of central London, Luton Airport is the home of Wizz Air, which operates flights from across Central and Eastern Europe. Like Stansted, Luton is relatively cheap to get to central London, making it ideal for low-cost travellers or those heading to the area between London and Birmingham.
City (LCY)
Located in the former Thames Docks near the financial district of Canary Wharf, London-City Airport is popular with business travellers and has higher ticket prices to match. There are no direct flights from the Czech Republic to City yet.
Southend (SEN)
The smallest of the airports covered by the "LON" code is Southend. It is the furthest of London's six airports from the city centre (67 km) and is used more for travel to Southend and the Thames Estuary area. There are no flights from the Czech Republic and the surrounding area.
