Marsalforn is a popular fishing village located on the northeast coast of Gozo. A promenade leads through the town and invites leisurely strolls.

The bay is surrounded by smaller cliffs which are easily accessible in several places. The town is well equipped with restaurants, shops, as well as diving centres.

Beaches and attractions

Swimming is only possible at a few mini-beaches in the centre and around the edges of the bay, where there is rocky access to the sea. Marsalforn is therefore more suitable as a town for accommodation and a starting point for exploring North Gozo than as a beach destination.

The photogenicsalt flats start about 1 km west of the centre.

If you fancy a little hike, head to the nearby Tas-Salvatur hill, which is topped by a statue of Christ. You'll be rewarded with 360° views of the surrounding area.

A smaller sandy beach can only be found in the beautiful Xwejni Bay about 1 km west of the centre of Marsalforn.

Accommodation Marsalforn

Marsalforn is one of the main tourist destinations on Gozo with the largest amount of accommodation.

Thanks to the good accessibility from here, you can discover not only the northern coast of the island.

Hotel Calypso **** - The largest hotel in town can be found right on the promenade, prices from 80 eur
Little Blue House - a great-rated apartment in the town centre, prices from 100 eur
Murella Living - small hotel in a quieter street within the city centre, prices from 75 eur

How to get there

Just 150 metres from the promenade you'll find a huge free car park, where it's no problem to find a free space even in the summer season.

Marsalforn is also easily accessible by bus.

Line 310 - once every 45 minutes to Victoria
Line 322 - once every 90 minutes runs between Marsalforn - Ggantija - Ramla - Nadur - Mgarr - Malta Ferry Landing

Marsalforn is also served by the "Gozo Sightseeing" tourist buses on the blue line. In the summer season they run once every 45 minutes, in winter once an hour.
